About BEYOND
BEYOND celebrates the fantastic work of artists, performers and musicians with learning disabilities in Leeds, and the organisations that support them.
The BEYOND Festival 2016 saw many local organisations working together to celebrate and promote this great work. It was also an opportunity for people with learning disabilities to find out more about the huge range of arts activity available to them in Leeds.
In July 2018 we delivered our second city-wide BEYOND Festival, which gathered even greater audiences and was a huge success.
Since 2021, we have delivered the BEYOND Artist Development Scheme (BADS), providing artists with a learning disability with a 12-month programme of bespoke support and mentoring to develop their practice and create new work. We will continue to promote the work of artists with a learning disability in Leeds, and work collaboratively with partner organisations to ensure that Leeds is the best city for people with a learning disability to access the arts.
